CENTRAL LINE

Railway Mega block on Sunday 7 January 2024: Central Line has announced Mega Block on Sunday 7 January 2024 for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works between Matunga to Mulund Up and Dn Fast Lines.

Time: 11:30 AM to 3:55 PM

Down fast line services departing CSMT Mumbai will be diverted o­n Down slow line between Matunga and Mulund stations halting as per their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule. Fast trains beyond Thane will be re-diverted o­n Down fast line at Mulund.

Up fast line services departing Thane will be diverted o­n Up slow line between Mulund and Matunga stations halting as per their scheduled halts, will be re-diverted o­n Up fast line at Matunga and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

HARBOUR LINE

Railway Mega block on Sunday 7 January 2024: Harbour Line has announced Mega Block on Sunday 7 January for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works between Panvel to Vashi Up and Dn Lines.

Time: 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM

Up Harbour line services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel and Dn Harbour line services to Panvel/Belapur leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai will remain suspended.

Special train services during block period

Special local trains will run o­n Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai – Vashi section during the block period.

These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

TRANS HARBOUR LINE

Up Trans-Harbour line services towards Thane leaving Panvel from 11.02 am to 3.53 pm and Dn Trans-Harbour line services towards Panvel leaving Thane from 10.01 am to 3.20 pm will remain suspended.

wESTERN LINE

No Mega Block on Sunday 7 January 2024 on western line during day time.

WESTERN Railway Night Block on 7 January 2024

Railway Mega block on Sunday 7 January 2024: In an official statement released by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, detailed information regarding the jumbo block has been provided. The block is scheduled from 01:00 hrs to 04:00 hrs fast line between Churchgate and Mumbai Central. During block period all trains on fast line between Mumbai Central to Churchgate will be diverted on slow line.

During the jumbo block, timings of some of the trains are altered. For additional information, concerned Station Master offices are accessible for detailed guidance.

Stations: Borivali and Bhayandar

Time: 01:00 hrs to 04:00 hrs.

Alter in Timings of Few Western Railway Suburban Local Trains: According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the trains of which the timings have been changed are as under:-

  1. Train No. 92042 Virar – Churchgate Local departing from Virar at 08.01 hrs. will now depart from Virar at 07.55 hrs and will not have halt at Borivali.
  2. Train No. 94016 Virar – Churchgate AC Local departing from Virar at07.56 hrs. will now depart from Virar at 07.59 hrs.
  3. Train No. 92027 Churchgate – Virar Local departing from Churchgate at 06.40 hrs will now depart from Churchgate at 06.32 hrs.
  4. Train No. 92067 Churchgate – Borivali Local departing from Churchgate at 09.27 hrs. will now depart from Churchgate at 09.19 hrs.
  5. Train No. 94019 Churchgate – Virar AC Local departing from Churchgate at 09.19 hrs. will now depart from Churchgate at 09.23 hrs.
  6. Train No. 94021 Churchgate – Borivali AC Local departing from Churchgate at 09.24 hrs. will now depart from Churchgate at 09.27 hrs.

Train No. 09415 Bandra Terminus – Gandhidham Special will depart from Bandra Terminus every Thursday at 19.25 hrs and reach Gandhidham at 08.40 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 11th January, 2024 to 29th February, 2024.

TRAIN NO. 09146 GANDHIDHAM To BANDRA TERMINUS SPECIAL TRAIN TIMINGS

Train No. 09416 Gandhidham – Bandra Terminus Special will depart from Gandhidham every Thursday at 00.30 hrs and arrive Bandra Terminus at 14.20 hrs, the same day. This train will run from 11th January, 2024 to 29th February, 2024.

Disabled-friendly facilities and underground parking will also be provided, ensuring accessibility for all. These stations will boast multimodal connectivity, designed as green buildings with provisions for solar energy, water conservation, and rainwater harvesting.

WR Extends Trips Of Five Pairs of Special Trains On Special Fare!

WR Extends Trips Of Five Pairs of Special Trains: For the convenience of passengers and with a view to meet the travel demand, Western Railway has extended the trips of 05 pairs of Special trains o­n Special Fare.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, details of the trains are as under:

Train No. 09207 Bandra Terminus – Bhavnagar Weekly Special Trains

Train No. 09207 Bandra Terminus – Bhavnagar Weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 29th December, 2023 has been extended up to 01st March, 2024.

Train No. 09208 Bhavnagar – Bandra Terminus Weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 28th December, 2023 has been extended up to 29th Fabruary, 2024.

Train No. 09520 Okha – Madurai Weekly Special Train

Train No. 09520 Okha – Madurai Weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 25thDecember, 2023 has been extended up to 29thJanuary, 2024.

Train No. 09519 Madurai – Okha Weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 29thDecember, 2023 has been extended up to 2nd February, 2024.

Train No. 09057 Udhna – Mangalore Bi- weekly Special Train

Train No. 09057 Udhna – Mangalore Bi- weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 31stDecember, 2023 has been extended up to 07th January, 2024.

Train No. 09058 Mangalore – Udhna Bi-weekly Special which was earlier notified up to 01st January, 2024 has been extended up to 08th January, 2024.

Train No. 09007 Valsad – Bhiwani Special Train

Train No. 09007 Valsad – Bhiwani Special which was earlier notified up to 28th December, 2023 has been extended up to 29thJanuary, 2024. This train which was earlier Weekly will now run Bi – weekly i.e. every Monday & Thursday.

Train No. 09008 Bhiwani – Valsad Special which was earlier notified up to29thDecember, 2023 has been extended up to 30th January, 2024. This train which was earlier weekly will now run Bi – weekly i.e. every Tuesday & Friday.

Train No. 09069 Surat – Brahmapur Weekly Special Train

Train No. 09069 Surat – Brahmapur Weekly Special extended from 17thJanuary, 2024 to 31st January, 2024.

Train No. 09070 Brahmapur – Surat Weekly Special extended from 19thJanuary, 2024 to 02nd Fabraury, 2024.

New Train Between Bandra Terminus and Barmer

For the convenience of passengers and with a view to meet the travel demand, Western Railway is introducing 02 pairs of Humsafar Weekly Express between Bandra Terminus and Barmer.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, details of these trains are as under:

Train No. 12997 / 12998 Bandra Terminus – Barmer Humsafar Weekly Superfast Express

Train No. 12997 Bandra Terminus – Barmer Humsafar Weekly Superfast Express

New Train Between Bandra Terminus and Barmer: Train No. 12997 Bandra Terminus – Barmer Humsafar Weekly Superfast Express will depart from Bandra Terminus every Wednesday at 23.55 hrs. & will reach Barmer at 17.55 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 3rd January, 2024. 

Train No. 12998 Barmer – Bandra Terminus Special Train timings

Train No. 12998 Barmer – Bandra Terminus Special will depart from Barmer every Thursday at 22.50 hrs, & will arrive Bandra Terminus at 15.50 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 4th January, 2024.

New Train Between Bandra Terminus and Barmer Halts

Enroute this train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Ankleshwar, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Patan, Bhildi, Raniwara, Marwar Bhinmal, Modran, Jalor, Mokalsar, Samdari, Balotra and Baytu station in both directions.

This train comprises of AC 3 – Tier and Sleeper Class coaches.

Train No. 19009 / 19010 Bandra Terminus – Barmer Humsafar Weekly Express

Train No. 19009 Bandra Terminus – Barmer Humsafar Weekly Express will depart from Bandra Terminus every Friday at 19.25 hrs. & will reach Barmer at 13.30 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 5th January, 2024.

Train No. 19010 Barmer – Bandra Terminus Express

Train No. 19010 Barmer – Bandra Terminus Express will depart from Barmer every Saturday at 21.30 hrs, & will arrive Bandra Terminus at 15.50 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 6th January, 2024.

New Train Between Bandra Terminus and Barmer Halts

Andheri Gokhale Bridge Reconstruction: Mumbai, the bustling metropolis often referred to as the ‘city that never sleeps,’ is set to witness a significant development with the reconstruction of the Gopal Krishna Gokhale Bridge in Andheri. This ambitious project has achieved a crucial milestone, paving the way for the reopening of a key east-west link in the western suburban area. Breakthrough Achievement: Installation of First Girder

The Gokhale Bridge reconstruction project marked a breakthrough with the successful installation of the first girder, weighing approximately 1200 MT, between the night of December 2 and 3. This achievement sets the stage for reopening one lane on the bridge by February 15, 2024. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) spearheads this significant development in public transport infrastructure.

Western Railway Mega Block for Gokhale Bridge: In connection with the work of construction of Gokhale ROB, a major traffic and power block will be taken from 01.40 hrs to 04.40 hrs o­n UP and Down harbour lines, slow lines & fast lines as well as 5th & 6th lines in the intervening night of Tuesday/Wednesday i.e. 02nd/03rd January, 2024. Due to this block few Western Railway trains will be cancelled & regulated.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the details of the trains which will be cancelled/regulated o­n 02nd /03rd January, 2024 are as under:

WR Mega Block: Cancellation of Mumbai Suburban Trains

  1. Train No. 92192 Virar – Andheri  local departing Virar at 22.18
  2. Train No. 92003 Andheri – Virar  local departing Andheri at 04.25.
  3. Train No. 92198 Vasai Road – Andheri  local departing Vasai Road at 23.15.
  4. Train No. 92005 Andheri – Virar  local departing Andheri at 04.40.
  5. Train No. 90002 Andheri – Churchgate  local departing Andheri at 04.05.
  6. Train No. 91047 Churchgate – Vile Parle  local departing Churchgate at 00.31.

WR Mega Block: Partially Cancellation of Mumbai Suburban Trains

  1. Train No. 91055 Churchgate- Borivali local departing from Churchgate at 01.00 hrs will run upto Bandra & will be partially cancelled between Bandra & Borivali.
  2. Train No. 90004 Borivali-Churchgate local departing from Borivali at 03.50 hrs will be partially cancelled between Borivali & Bandra and will be run from Bandra.

  1. Train No. 90006 Virar – Churchgate  local departing Virar at 03.25 will be regulated by 00.15 min. 
  2. Train No. 90008 Borivali – Churchgate  local departing Borivali at 04.05 will be regulated by 00.15 min. 
  3. Train No. 90012 Virar – Borivali  local departing Virar at 03.35 will be regulated by 00.10 min.

  1. Train No. 19038 Barauni-Bandra Terminus Avadh Express will be regulated by 45 minutes at Borivali and will arrive at Bandra Terminus late by 60 Minutes.
  2. Train No. 22946 Okha-Mumbai Central Saurashtra Mail will be regulated by 30 minutes o­n Surat-Borivali section and will reach Mumbai Central 30 Minutes late.

Phased Dismantling and Project Impact

The Gopal Krishna Gokhale Bridge underwent a phased dismantling process between December 2022 and March 2023. While the installation of the first girder impacted a few long-distance trains, the local community eagerly awaits the reopening of this vital east-west connector in Andheri. The bridge has been closed since November 3, 2022, with the Western Railways initiating the demolition in December 2022 and completing the four-month-long process in March 2023.

A colossal plan of over 330 km across 14 metro lines is in the works, with 46 km already in operation on three lines. Led by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MMRCL), this ambitious project is reshaping the city’s connectivity.

Metro Marvels Taking Shape

With more than 150 km across nine lines under construction, Mumbai’s metro network is set to redefine urban transportation. The MMRCL, focusing on underground lines, currently operates two lines with two more in progress. Beyond the city limits, Navi Mumbai is gearing up for metro connectivity, with four lines under the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), soon transitioning to the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha Metro).

Among the transformative projects, Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, stands out. This underground marvel spans 33.5 km with 27 stations, connecting Colaba and Aarey. Let’s take a closer look at this significant development.

The Aqua Line connects vital areas of Mumbai, including both older and newer central business districts, major railway terminals, and airport terminals. Additionally, it links high-speed railway terminal stations at BKC. Positioned as ‘connecting the unconnected,’ this line promises unparalleled connectivity.

This 33.5 km underground line has 27 stations, with 26 of them underground, and the northern terminal Aarey at-grade. The stations include key locations such as Cuffe Parade, Vidhan Bhavan, Churchgate, Hutatma Chowk, CSMT, Kalbadevi, Girgaon, Grant Road, Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi, Science Museum, Acharya Atre Chowk, Worli, Siddhivinayak, Dadar, Shitladevi, Dharavi, BKC, Vidyanagri, Santa Cruz, CSIA Terminal 1 (Domestic Airport), Sahar Road, CSIA Terminal 2 (International Airport), Marol Naka, MIDC, SEEPZ, and Aarey Colony.

Mumbai Metro Line 3 Ticket Fare

The fare structure, prices, and rules for Line 3 are yet to be announced. MMRCL plans to implement an open-loop automatic fare collection (AFC) system, allowing users to pay using QR codes on their phones, contactless pre-paid and post-paid smart cards.

Phase 1 is set to conclude in December 2023, with trials already underway in the Aarey to BKC segment. Public access is expected in early 2024. The entire Aqua Line is scheduled to open to commuters by the end of 2024. Currently, nine crucial trains required for Phase 1 are in position, with additional train sets on the way. Remarkably, 86% of the Aqua Line’s overall work has been completed, with Phase 1 boasting a progress rate of 93%.

Phase 2, facing challenges in densely populated areas, stands at an impressive 80% completion rate. Innovative approaches, including the time-consuming New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) Technology, have been employed to ensure seamless progress.

With over 90% completion and ongoing trials in Phase 1, the eagerly awaited Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 is poised to begin operations in early 2024. The entire 33.5 km stretch, connecting Colaba to SEEPZ, is set to be accessible to the public by the end of the same year, marking a monumental leap in Mumbai’s metro infrastructure. The eagerly awaited Phase I of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 underground corridor, connecting Aarey to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), is poised to open its doors in April 2024. This landmark development, a 12 km stretch, holds promises of enhanced connectivity, easing commuter access to vital destinations.
